February Randoms

I've noticed that I often group together random pictures at the end of the month. There are just so many that don't really fit into a category, so I feel like I have to do them justice by giving them their own little segment. Here are the February randoms.

We went to the Frozen Sing-A-Long! It was a blast, and Brooklyn sang loud and proud. Definitely a proud mommy moment....

This boy, it turns out, is a total Daddy's boy. He loves his daddy. He will smile and laugh for him more than anyone else. It's so cute! It would be cuter if I wasn't so jealous... JK

Brooklyn takes care of her peeps.

We got a new couch! Wahoo! Not only is it exactly what we wanted plus a couchbed, but it was only $100! I don't usually win those sorts of finds, so this was especially savory. It's a great couch. We love it!

In other exciting news, I got an iPad! Wahoo!! It was getting impossible for me to keep up with my calling when I didn't even have a smart phone. I love it so much! I use the calendar like 24 hours a day, and the camera is awesome. This is the first picture I took.

And this is the second. You can see how badly Stock scratches his face. :( He does it when he's tired, and no matter how short his nails are, he still manages to mangle his face. It makes me so sad!

I did this braid. I don't do hair very well, so this was another proud moment for me. I invented it.

Brooklyn got a new scooter over the holidays, and she is so excited to be able to ride it now that it's not snowy and freeeeezing!

Everybody wins! Not.

Tonight we got together with everyone and played basketball at the church. Ummm.. I'm out of shape, to say the least. Every team I was on got destroyed. The Hanks boys decimated everyone, and most of the kids were better than me. Craig played well, but that's no surprise. He's awesome at basketball. In the lineup we have from left to right:

Boston, Kade, Jade, Emily, Ashley, Tanner, Dawson, Alissa, Melanie, Josh, Taylor, Stacy, John, Kristin, Craig, David, and JD. 

Yes, two of my sobrinos are taller than me, and two more are about to pass me up. Jeez.

The Beehives

Today I was called and set apart as the 2nd Counselor in the Young Womens presidency, which means I am over the Beehives. I am so thrilled to work with these girls, and I love them already! I sat in their class today, and I am just so excited to get to know them. They seem pretty awesome. During class Stockton spit up all over my skirt, leg, and boots, and then Brooklyn came in needing to go pee. All of the girls immediately held out their arms to hold him while I was gone. :) I get the feeling this is going to be great... I have never had a calling in yw, so I am a little nervous and quite humbled by a calling that requires so much work and effort. I hope I can keep up and do what's best for them. *Feeling grateful* (I wish there was an emoticon...)

Toe Pick!

As one of our pre-planned Christmas dates, we went to the Blue Plate Diner and ice skating. The Diner was really good, and quite Vegan. I mean, not everything was, but most of it. It was...interesting. Very tasty though. :)

Ice skating was lots of fun, but I realized that I am getting old and out of shape. I made it around the rink a few times, but I was pretty much exhausted. Haha!

Voila!

My first big project! I'm really proud of this. We've had this piano for about a year now, and this piano bench has continuously bugged me. It's ugly and not even attached to the bench. I've been wanting to reupholster it for awhile, and we finally did it! Here is what it looked like before.

And after! Doesn't it look so much better!? Craig was a big help, and together with YouTube we figured out how to do it. We've never reupholstered anything before, so I'm quite proud. Now it looks fabulous!!

Three Months

My little Stock is 3 months today! Time really goes by so much faster than for the first child. I felt like time was so slow when Brooklyn was a baby, probably because everyone tells you how fast it goes by... That's a lie. Anyway, with him, it is going by super fast! He doesn't give laughs or smiles easily, but that makes them all the more special. He is such a sweet boy, and although he has never liked taking naps with me and seems to always be pushing me away... he surprisingly is quite the snuggler. He likes to put his head down on my shoulder sometimes, and it's so precious. Especially because Brooklyn was never that type. She has never been a cuddler at all. We're having so much fun with him!

And here is the most precious thing... He is talking to my Aunt Nancy. So cute!
