Curesearch Walk!

One reason September is always such a busy month for us is because it's Childhood Cancer Awareness month! And you can bet we spread the awareness. The past three years we have put on a Lemonade Stand for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation - not just a little lemonade stand on the corner - I'm talking the monster of all lemonade stands. We raised over $10,000 from last year alone, and it goes towards childhood cancer research.

We decided to try something new this year, and joined with other families to be a part of the Salt Lake City Curesearch Walk. We raised money for our team, and it was a great experience. Although you can't tell from this picture.

We had such a great time! The weather was great (a little warm, but way better than last year!) and the park was beautiful. It was breathtaking to see so many survivors and supporters. We walked in honor of my niece Brinley, who is a 6-year-old cancer survivor. Somehow I didn't get a picture of her. Boo!

We had an amazing turn out! I am proud to be part of something so important and making a difference! If you didn't get to participate this year, there's always next year! ;)

Visiting Robin

Today is the 31st anniversary of the death of my sister, Robin. We went as a family to visit her grave this year, and it was really special. All of her nieces and nephews were there, but we were missing Mom, Dad, Matt and Jen. It was a neat thing to get together and talk a little bit about what we think Robin would have been like, who she would have married, where she would live... Things like that. It was also an opportunity to talk about the Plan of Salvation and that we will see her again, and she is alive on the other side of the veil.  I feel like I have a special connection with my sister, although I didn't meet her in this life. I am so blessed to have the family I do, and such wonderful parents and siblings. My brothers and sisters have married wonderful people as well who I feel as close to as if we were blood related. I am so grateful for the support and love that seems to abound in our family, and am so glad we have the blessing of eternal families!

September Sun

September. This has been such a busy month! We took Brooklyn to the zoo, which she loved. She just sat there and laughed at all the animals, and made all the sounds. It was fun to take her since she is a little older now and can appreciate what's there. We rode the train, too, which was a blast for her.

Busy game season, too! Go Utes!

It's been such beautiful weather, and we are taking advantage of it!

We are so close to moving in to our new house! It's been crazy trying to fix it all up so we can move in, and there's been about a week of limbo where we can't move in yet, but we have to be out of our condo. We moved all of our stuff into our house, but we are living with Melanie for the time being, and it's been so much fun. I mean, how can life not be fun with these girls?

The new Our Best Bites cookbook came out, and Kristin and I went to the book signing! We got to taste some BB samples and meet the girls. It was wonderful! Best Bites for the win!
