Teething is my enemy

My poor girl is teething. It's horrible. It's so hard to see her in pain when there's only so much we can do. I can only be glad that when she's older she won't remember! Her Jekyll/Hyde only surfaces occasionally, so she is still usually her cute, happy, normal self. But when it does come out, take cover! She will grow horns and turn into a little monster - not her fault, of course. It just sucks. I want her to feel good and be happy always! It's like shots - I hate going with her to get shots, because she cries and cries and there's nothing I can do. I need to get in touch with my "tough mommy" identity!

She is easily distracted though, which is such a blessing! We took her swimming again, and she liked it this time! I'm not sure she even knew she was in a pool, because she is completely obsessed with her little rubber ducky. She chews on him all day. It was really fun.

Father's Day was wonderful! I made some delicious homemade chicken taquitos with a creamy lime-cilantro dip. YUM! It was fun to spend time in the kitchen together, and I loved spoiling him! I got him some Pampered Chef grilling stuff, with a cookbook and some chipotle rub. I have the most wonderful husband, who happens to also be the greatest dad to Brooklyn! We are some lucky girls. :) I love that dads get a day to be celebrated too, because they do so much. I also am so grateful for my dad who has always been there for me, and taught me how to always put your children first. I love him and I love my Craig!

So throughout all this teething craziness, Brooklyn still makes us laugh. She is such a joy to be around! I love being her mom and getting to know her unique personality!

Time, slow down!!

WARNING: This post is going to be very long with lots of pictures.

Well, my baby is already 6 months old! Wow! Let's rewind. Update!!

3 months old!

Her bumbo. She love love loooooves her bumbo. It reminds us of her sitting in her lazyboy. :)

I got a haircut.

4 months old!

Eating solids now, although she barely fits in the highchair.

We had a fun Easter. Can't wait for next year when she can participate!

Bucket and Brooklyn are best friends (according to her, not him.)

Went to Sears for our first family pictures!

5 months old!

I give her my award for cutest baby face!

Craig and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! We stayed at the Grand America (Brooklyn stayed overnight with Grandma Davis) and had a great time! It was nice to get away and pretend to be young again. :) I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband! He is the sweetest, kindest, most selfless and giving person I could ever have hoped for. He is a stellar dad, and Brooklyn will tell you so. I'm looking forward to spending many more years with him!

At the end of May, we took our first post-baby road trip! Brooklyn was an angel, and we had soo much fun! I had a choir reunion, and got to see so many good friends I haven't seen in years!! Including my lovely girlfriend, Lori, who was as beautiful as ever and such a good mommy. I got to meet her daughter, Ayla, for the first time too! Don't ask how we forgot to take pictures of our girls together...
Took Brooklyn swimming for the first time. She cried.
It was so fun to see Mom and Dad, and Matt and Jen! (and Toby)
Having fun with Grandpa's beard!
And.... back to present day. Brooklyn is rolling all over the place, LOVING solid food, and talking up a nonsense storm! She brings so much joy and happiness into our home, and really has a sweet personality. Ask anyone who's met her!

Almost sitting up on her own - she can balance for about 10 seconds!

Loves her tongue...

And her exersaucer...
6 months old!!

And oranges! Her new favorite snack. She freaks out when she sees one!

All is well in the Davis world. We are enjoying every minute together, and Brooklyn is the star of our home. Craiggy is almost done with his 2nd semester of his Master's Degree, and we are counting down the weeks until he's done! He will then be known as "Master Craig". I have been testing out my cooking thumb and am loving it! Cooking is so fun! I'm also going back to school in the fall, to get my degree (it'll only take me 14 years... better late than never!).
