May Highlights

I sure love these guys. Here are our highlights for the month. Brooklyn is learning the art of dress ups.

And painting her own nails. Yikes.

We went to Boondocks with Grandma and Grandpa Davis, and Brooklyn got to ride the boats! Unfortunately, she wasn't tall enough for the go-carts, which broke her heart and mine.

My kiddos.

We visited Robin's grave, and Brooklyn is finally old enough to understand. Miss you, sister!

Stock is back to his normal sleeping position.

And he finally fits in his hat! Stud.

Family Date Night

We celebrated with a family date night tonight at Buffalo Wild Wings! That means we couldn't find a babysitter so we all went! These guys make my world turn.

Fare Thee Well, Helmet

Well, the helmet is gone! I couldn't be happier. We continued trying things to help his scratching, but nothing else worked. At his last doctor's appointment, his head had improved from a 13 to a 6 (0 being perfectly round), so we decided to call it good. He was impressed that it had improved so quickly, and although our original plan was about 3 months, we felt good enough to stop now.  Here are some pictures from last month, before he started his helmet.

And here he is today! I am thrilled that he progressed so quickly, and he can go without it now.

I see a lot more of this. Melts my mommy heart.

While he was in his helmet, he slept on his face a lot. Now he can sleep however he wants! No more helmet! No more helmet! (Party chant)

The Last Five Years

Yes, that is the title of a fantastic and inspiring musical. It is also the representation of the our five year anniversary! Wahoo!! Happy anniversary to the most patient, loving, easy going guy I know and love. I am amazed at how the time has gone by and I look forward to our new adventures. We went to Del Mar al Lago, a Peruvian restaurant that was divine.

Honestly, one of the best parts was the fact that they have Inca Kola, a favorite from my mission that I haven't had in years.
Don't look too closely, or you'll see how many things that used to be alive are on his plate. Blech!

Saturday we joined my next favorite man and saw Jimmy Eat World in concert! It was an amazing show, and we were really, really close to the front. I had breathtaking moment when Jimmy actually made eye contact with me! In that moment we shared our souls with each other, and I am proud to be his friend. :)

Anyway, I am so happy to be married to this amazing man. He is not easy to live with, but hey, neither am I. He is an incredible daddy, and a loving husband and hard worker. Happy anniversary, Craiggy!

We got a van!

Well, the time has finally come. We have bought a van. I am so excited! I never thought I would be the type to have a van - I had forever sworn we would be "SUV people", but I am so excited. The automatic doors, the space, the better gas mileage... This was definitely a better choice for us. Plus, our kids can open the doors without smacking the car parked next to us (honestly, that one was a huge game changer). And honestly, I am loving it. I named it the Blackberry, and it is now a part of our family. Haha. We got it last week, and this week we walked around Lehi while they put a DVD player in it. We got some "world famous" square donuts.

Went bowling and played in the arcade.

And surprisingly, for how excited I am, I have yet to get a good picture of it! It's a black 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. And it is beautiful. (Our garage is not)

And here is Stock's new favorite thing to do. His face is priceless.

Craig Davis, CPA

Craig passed his CPA exam right before we had Stockton. It was a four part, year to year and a half test that was a monster to study for. He did so well (even with a pregnant wife), and passed in the nick of time. Craig has always done well in school and work, and doing the accelerated Masters program tested his endurance. :) After that, he had to study for and take these exams (hours and hours and hours.... I feel like I should get some credit for spending so much time alone too), and I am so proud of him! It was too close to having the baby to plan a party, so this, although belated, is the party we had for him. It was touching to have over all the people who care about him, and who helped and understood how difficult this was. Everyone shared some funny stories and praised Craig till he was ready to climb under a rock. It was nice for me though. There aren't too many things better than hearing nice things about your hubby, especially when they are true. Craig is the type of person who reads like an open book. He is a genuine, hard working, loving, dependable man and I am so grateful that others know that too. Proud wife moment. :) Congratulations, Craig! You've worked so hard and I am so proud of you!

Six Months Old!

My little bubby is 6 months old today! Happy birthday! He is such a patient kid, and brings so much joy into our lives! He lives for his sister and smiles for her more than anyone else.

Unfortunately, this is what his helmet is doing to him. As a mama, it is breaking my heart.  It itches him so bad, that when we take it off for his mandatory 1 hour daily break, he scratches it. We cut his nails as short as possible, but he still manages to draw blood. He will pull off socks, and we have tried everything. We even put a special spray in his helmet, and wash his head with sensitive shampoo. Anyway, since it's bleeding, it gets infected when the helmet goes back on. It's a vicious cycle, and my mommy heart won't be able to take this much longer.

Matt and Jen come to town!

Matt and Jen came up to visit for Jen's baby shower! Baby Reverie will be here in a few short months, and we were so excited to see them. Lucky for Brooklyn, Melanie and family had some cute little ducks to play with. She was fascinated.

Jen's shower was a huge success! I don't know where the large group photo ended up, but we had a great turnout. Lots of family came to support Jen, and we are so excited to meet little Reverie!

The other great thing was that they stayed with us, so we got some extra time with them. :) The kids had a lot of fun with them, and frankly I quite enjoyed their company! Every visit is hard because I so wish they would move up here. I love them both so much! Hush up, tears, don't make me sentimental. They are just so great.

And this is Brooklyn catching a duck. It is hilarious. You go, girl!
